UNIQUE GOLD STAR OF A HERO OF THE SOVIET UNION - type 1.

RARE Type 1 award - Markov 1.1.1 Gold. On a small hanger. Serial Number: 606 Granted to Tishkevich V.A. on 02/27/1945. The fact that he was issued a first type award in 1945 is unique - apparently, the very last instance of this type of Gold Star being awarded... Comes with Archival Research from Ministry of Defense of Russian Federation w/photo (includes, among other things, 2 citations, for this Hero Star, and also Order of the Patriotic War). Comes with Authentication Certificate from Paul McDaniel (one of the authors of the book "Comprehensive Guide to Soviet Orders and Medals", by P.McDaniel and P.Schmitt). Comes with 2 original b/w photos of the Hero in civilian uniform in his late 50's and late 60's, wearing all his decorations. Comes with copy of the biographical article from the official catalog "Heroes of the Soviet Union" (includes photo).
